Thursday night is Cell Group and before Gary started teaching it we would just go together whenever I got off work and someone would leave the group to come and pick us up from the LRT station. Well, since Gary has been teaching he has had to go before me. So, last night someone came to pick me from the station later and when we got back to the church building all the lights were off. Matthew was walking pretty slow behind me, but I didn't think anything of it. Then when we walked in the front foyer I could tell that it was dark in the auditorium, but I just thought they had put something black over the window for some reason, then when I opened the door they flipped on the lights and started singing happy birthday. I just stood there and said is this for me? It's not my birthday. Then they said my name in the song and I got even more confused because I thought it was for Matthew, but he was staying way behind me. I kept asking is this for real for me? It's not my birthday. So, I blew out the candle and everything. I had to know where all this came from, so I just kept asking questions. Finally the truth came out...they had a cake and they decided since they had a cake they should celebrate someones birthday and it was perfect that I was showing up late so they could be prepared. It was hilarious!!!!! Besides that one time my roommates surprised me at Famous Dave's on my birthday, I have never had a surprise party. Even though it could have been for whoever was the next person that walked in that door it was really fun!! Thanks for the surprise guys, I LOVED IT!!!
