The Devil - He's Always Roaring

I have a confession to make. This is hard. It’s something I hate to admit. It’s something I wish I could say will never happen again, but I’m human and I sin.

A way I can help myself to never do this again? Have the words of God on my heart always. I need to study compassion, meekness, humbleness and  mercy.

What?! Thayer is 7 months old?!

“Da da da da” is what we hear all the time now. He talks to Dada, talks about Dada and sometimes yells at Dada. BUT the other day I had to meet Gary when his car broke down and Thayer was done being in the car and actually said, “Ma ma ma ma” when he saw me. I was so excited! I didn’t want to get him out of his car seat because I wanted to hear him say it over and over again!! :-)

Oliver Walter Woessner - A Birth Story Through My Eyes Part 2

catch up with PART 1

“Hey it’s Jessica. I’m pretty sure my water broke or I’m just uncontrollably peeing on myself.” We exchanged giggles and she continued, “Michael is taking a shower and then we are going to head to the hospital.”

“Great! Have Michael text me when you get there and let me know if this is for sure IT.”

Oliver Walter Woessner - A Birth Story Through My Eyes

I hope I can do this beautiful story justice!  I am going to be completely honest with how I felt throughout the weeks, days, hours and even minutes leading up to this birth. What thoughts were going through my head. Things I learned. Things I loved. Things I hated. Things I could have done differently.

Thayer is 1/2 a year old!!

On Sunday our sweet little guy turned 6 months old.  That opens up a whole new world for us!! We do Baby Led Weaning and 6 months is when they say to start letting them try food.  If Thayer is anything like Wren, he won’t actually start consuming anything until around 9 months, but so far he’s been NOTHING like his big sister :-).  He’s definitely tasting and feeling textures and it wouldn’t surprise me if he started swallowing food quicker than her.

Thayer's 5 months old!

The 5 month sticker ripped when I was trying to get it off the paper. I'm using the same stickers I had for Wren and I think I put some of them on the wrong side of the paper...WHOOPS!

The Follow Through

The other night at gymnastics I watched Wren hit her coach. I immediately said, “OOOHHHH Gary I just saw her hit Coach Ruth.” Then I saw her hit another little boy in her class. They were on the other side of the gym, but my stalker skills allowed me to see Coach Ruth take her over to the little boy to apologize.

After class was over she was the first one off the mats and I asked her, “Wren, did you hit Coach Ruth?” “No,” she said with a super serious face.  “Are you sure?” I asked.

Coach Ruth comes out and I ask her and cowardly Coach Ruth answers, “Yes, but it’s ok.” I said, “No, it’s not ok she doesn’t need to hit.  Wren tell Coach Ruth you’re sorry.” “NO!” she exclaims. “Wren, tell Coach Ruth you’re sorry or I’m going to take you to the bathroom and give you a spanking,” I reply. “NO!” she exclaims.

Welcome Forest Friends: A Woodsy Shower for Baby Oliver

Sunday we celebrated baby Oliver!  This boy is already so loved by so many.  I know that people say that about other babies that are welcomed into this world, but baby Oliver’s story isn’t like other babies.

A lesson from Texas

Last week I was living the single mom life while my sweet husband took the long road to Texas, with a group from our church, to meet up with Disaster Response and help the residents there who suffered great loss during their recent flooding. They gutted, dry walled, removed tile and most importantly spread their Christian lights.

It's pretty amazing how God can turn something so disappointing into something so AMAZING! Here's Gary's story:

2 year/3-4 month update

What an exciting title, right? Ha! Sometimes just keeping it simple so I know what the post is about when I want to look back at it years from now is the way to go :).

Wren turned 2 while we were in Florida on a family vacation for my aunt's 50th birthday.  I decided not to do a big shindig this year because we were out of town and I just had a baby, but she did get to blow out candles twice...she was turning 2 after all.

HBC = Homebirth Cesarean

How am I doing?  Emotionally?  Physically?  After such a horrific grand entrance into the world Thayer didn't ease up at first.  His first night home was completely sleepless for my mom and me, but we made it!  Now, he's 2 months old and a super sweet, super happy baby...most of the time :).

Thayer Maxwell Washer - Our Birth Story

Before moving on and reading our birth story, you should probably start here to see how we prepared for this birth.

Thursday March 19 - 6:30 am

My alarm for work goes off (for the 3rd time) and I decide I need to get up.  I start the shower and go to the bathroom.  I notice there's a little blood when I wipe.  I take note and jump in the shower.  I had an appointment with Susie, my midwife, that afternoon, so I could tell her then at least.

Twinkle Twinkle Little Star (baby)

I feel like I have to do these life updates a lot because I tend to just let my blog go.  Lately I have been having a hard time blogging because it seems like such the thing to do.  Throw your opinion out there and hope the public grasps it.  Write about your day-to-day and maybe someone will find interest in it.  Read this person’s blog about this topic or that person’s blog about that topic. So, I had kind of sworn off from blogging for a while.  However, I do like to keep track of life events and this is a great resource for that.
