My Crazy Weekend!!

My weekend began on Thursday afternoon when I left straight from work to go pick up my sister and head down to a friend's house in Alexander City, Alabama (about a 5 hour trip for me). I got to her about 8:15 and then to Alex City about 11pm. Brint and Shanon are friends from my church camp (Backwoods Christian Camp) and since they live so far away I don't get to see them very often. So, we stayed up until 4am. They have 3 kids and since we got there so late the only one we were able to see the night before the oldest, Lily. The next morning I woke up and needed to go the restroom, but it was only 9, which means I had only gotten 5 hours of sleep. I could hear a little noise downstairs, so I knew that if I got out of bed I would have to stay up. Well, the urge just wouldn't leave and a rattle kept bothering me downstairs.
We hung out there until about 4:30. We left to head to Montgomery to go Faulkner University to see our cousins in Jamboree. Our Grammy and Pawpaw also live in Montgomery, so it was just perfect for us to stop by there quickly to see them. We were telling my 85 year old BLIND grandfather a work-out that we did earlier that day (3 min sit-ups, pause 10 sec, 3 min jumping jacks, pause 10 sec, 3 min push-ups, pause 10 sec. Do that 3 times and on the third time do all three for one min). Immediately he says, "You didn't do full sit-ups right?" All three of us were like "Yes," then he grabs his blue work-out mat and gets down on the floor and shows us different crunches that we should be doing because sit-ups are bad for you hips. Meanwhile, my Grammy is screaming from the other room how she obviously knows nothing about ab work-outs. It was quite the scene!
We leave there and move onto Jamboree, which is a production put on by the different social clubs. We had something like it at Freed, Makin' Music, and it was one of my most favorite things in the world! I'm a screamer and when my cousins were on that stage, the guy sitting in front of me was second guessing his "perfect spot." Needless to say, he didn't return after intermission. The show was over about 10 and then we went out to eat at Zaxby's with the fam. We left there about 11, dropped Shanon off by 12, reached Cullman to get my truck at 3am, and I was tucked into my bed by 5am Saturday morning.
I had every intention on sleeping until 12 because I had to leave my house by 1 to make it to Ricky and Jesenia's by 2. However, I have a husband who likes to keep the kitchen clean, which I can't complain, except that he was being REALLY loud and didn't close the bedroom door. Then he begins cooking bacon...we all know how that smells!!!
I was up by 11 (again not a full night's sleep) because I was starving!
I made it to the pre-wedding prep by 2 to find out the bride had left to get her make-up done. So, all the pre-wedding shots I had planned on getting were out the window. We did have a good time though, with the rest of the family!
The Bride and Groom were supposed to get ready at the same house, but things ran late other places, so the groom just ended up having to meet us at the church. The ceremony was supposed to start at 6 and we were all pulling in the parking lot at 5:58.
The ceremony was held at a Catholic church, so I then remembered that this might be a very long ceremony. Nope, I was wrong! Five minutes, TOPS, from the time the bride walked down the aisle to the exit! I wasn't prepared for that.
We were on our way to the reception by 6:50. However, the party didn't get started until almost 9 because they were waiting on all the guests to arrive. By 10:30 my eyelids are heavy and I can barely see. I asked the groom if there was anything else I needed to stay for and he said they would be cutting the cake around midnight. Remember: I have been here almost 9 hours at this point! The photographer (Crystal Molina, who is also did my wedding) is his sister-in-law and told me I had been there long enough and she was staying. I got a few more shots and then I cut out of there.
I got home around 11:30 and into bed about 12. Got up at 7:30 and had to teach a class full of 5th graders! Thank you Gary for saving my life in that class. He did MOST of the talking that day and did a wonderful job.
I took a LONG afternoon nap and went to bed at a "decent" hour.
YES, that was my weekend!!
