Hard to be far away!

My morning routine at work is to check facebook, blog, and email while everything is loading. Facebook was first on the agenda and I had a post on my wall from my dad that said

Mark PapaBear Rowe You need to call me just as soon as you can. I don't care what time. Call the cell phone

Of course that freaked me out!!! I wasn't exactly sure what to expect, but getting a message like that could never be good. My cell phone was dead and so I had to charge it, but I do have a phone at my desk, so on the company bill, I called home. I found out that my granddaddy fell down last night and broke his hip and some other things and they think he might have had a minor stroke. My dad said he was stable, but with the fuzziness of the phone I thought I heard fatal. Of course I broke down crying! After he kept talking I realized he must have said stable so I was able to regain my composure. You know, nobody ever can prepare you for how hard it is going to be when you are so far away from your family and can't just hop in the car when something bad happens. He is doing well enough that my sister, brother-in-law, and dad headed back home today, but mom is staying around until tomorrow. I will keep you all updated and hopefully can give some good news in the next couple of days. Please pray for him!!!
